Whether we like it or not the facts tell us that people don’t want a direct sales approach, but rather they want to be left alone to make their own decisions. People don’t want to be pressured, but rather they want to slowly come around to making decisions with the information they have been given. I discovered that as things changed, I had to do the same, and there was no better time than now to do it!

Being Professional in Online Marketing


Being professional in my online business is really important to me. When you are market online, it’s easy to convey just about anything to your target audience, but it’s always best to convey and market the true you.

Why is having the utmost professionalism so difficult for marketers these days? It seems so many go to one company, they praise and promote it as if it were the holy grail. Then, before you know it, they quit and move onto something else. How is it possible that you can believe so strongly in one thing, and a few days later you’ve already changed your mind?

Being professional isn’t difficult, it’s merely a choice you make. So, what are the signs you need to look for before you start working with someone in their business? I am going to share with you the details on what to look for, the simple signs that you’ll see online through social media, and how you can make sure that you are following your true passion in life.

Being Professional Online is a Choice

When you joined your home based business, what was your determining factor? What was that one thing that really made you want to join, and what made you want to stick with it?

I always ask my fellow marketers this question, or my team members when they join me in my business. The truth is, most people join a company because they hear the best story, the winning story, and nothing negative. What you won’t hear from most marketers is their journey, and how many times they wanted to quit.

Being professional is a choice, and this means that an honest marketer will tell you:

  1. How they got started
  2. The bumps along the way
  3. WHY they do what they do
  4. What their passion in life is
  5. Where they are right now

Being transparent is probably an even better word, but there are tons of issues we’ll talk about here that go under this umbrella of being professional or not. All in all, for me, it comes down to someone sharing their story, and then telling me “their WHY” and “the how”.

Do you ever find that most online marketers leave out the how to? It’s time that we all focus on sharing the how to, because each one of us has different methods that work, and someone may try it, but it may not work for them. You won’t know until you share it!

Being Professional is Being Transparent

One thing I truly believe is that most marketers that claim to make millions per year, may not even make six figures. Why? They are always showing pictures of them holding money, stacks of cash on their desk, and talking about how they travel all around the world whenever they wish.

This isn’t inspiring or helping anyone for that matter. It’s time that people get more transparent about what they do and why. Faking people out into believing that they are doing something that they are not is unethical and it’s so misleading if you haven’t done it yet. Share with people how you are doing, and WHY you feel the way you do. If you tried something and fell flat on your face, tell it!

Being professional for me is tops, and it’s the only way to build a business. In fact, you should know that attraction marketing isn’t about making what you do look attractive, it’s about YOU being attractive! Now can you recall a time when you say something or heard someone say something that just seemed too good to be true?

I am sure that you can, and you’ll always see a few in the crowd. However, you don’t have to be one of them. The Beginning for New Marketers-The Starting Point for Your New Business


The beginning of a new business venture can be the toughest place for any new marketer, do you agree? I find that this is because most marketers, even when they have experience aren’t sure where to start. In the Digital Age, it’s much easier.

You see, it’s not about having incredible business acumen, althought that is helpful. This is about realizing that the best way to market to people is by telling them stories. In fact, I am so confident about this, I am going to ask you to do something for me. Close your eyes, and think back to the last item you purchased. What comes to mind first?

I’m sure that if you give it enough thought, you’ll discover that not only did you buy it because there is a story behind it, but you are buying it because you like the story or you believe it. So, how do you tell a good story? How can you get people to believe that what you say is true?

It’s not about the trying, but it’s about creating stories that align with their worldview. Remember the goal isn’t to change people, but to resonate with a specific audience. I’ll prove it.

The Beginning is Always Tough

When I first decided to start my home based business, I remember thinking about spending more time with my invalid mum was all I wanted, and the ability to take care of my daughter. I wanted to be hands on and not hands off.

The beginning was a whirlwind of excitement and fear, thinking to myself, “What if this doesn’t work?” I then realized that I wasn’t alone, and that the only way to make this work was to just do it. I heard something that will stick with me forever, and it was this; “You don’t have to be GREAT to start, but you do have to start to be great!”

Wow.

I realized that most marketers go through this Q&A type session in their head, just like I was. So, I knew what I had to do. I needed to identify my goals, what I wanted from life and then create the life I wanted by living it and working on my terms. Pretty simple eh?

Can you relate to this? If so, then you just related to “my story”, and now you understand what story telling can do for your business as you grow it. You have a beginning, and so do all of the other online marketers. You are NOT alone! It’s all about saying yes to yourself, and not teaching what you know. Those that have a similar worldview will not only appreciate you, but they will follow you. Now does this make sense to you?

The Beginning of Authenticity

One thing that I want to add for you today is that authenticity is so important in your business. You MUST be true to yourself and share FACTS not fiction. This means that you need to always give facts to your prospects  and readers, and that doesn’t mean that you have to tell them everything about you or your business.

However, you should never paint the picture that you are doing something you aren’t. If you aren’t making millions, don’t tell your prospects that! Be authentic at all times. Make sense? If you start in the beginning with lies, you’ll have to end it with lies and that isn’t what we are after here.
