Being Professional in Online Marketing

Being professional in my online business is really important to me. When you are market online, it’s easy to convey just about anything to your target audience, but it’s always best to convey and market the true you.

Why is having the utmost professionalism so difficult for marketers these days? It seems so many go to one company, they praise and promote it as if it were the holy grail. Then, before you know it, they quit and move onto something else. How is it possible that you can believe so strongly in one thing, and a few days later you’ve already changed your mind?

Being professional isn’t difficult, it’s merely a choice you make. So, what are the signs you need to look for before you start working with someone in their business? I am going to share with you the details on what to look for, the simple signs that you’ll see online through social media, and how you can make sure that you are following your true passion in life.

Being Professional Online is a Choice

When you joined your home based business, what was your determining factor? What was that one thing that really made you want to join, and what made you want to stick with it?

I always ask my fellow marketers this question, or my team members when they join me in my business. The truth is, most people join a company because they hear the best story, the winning story, and nothing negative. What you won’t hear from most marketers is their journey, and how many times they wanted to quit.

Being professional is a choice, and this means that an honest marketer will tell you:

How they got started
The bumps along the way
WHY they do what they do
What their passion in life is
Where they are right now

Being transparent is probably an even better word, but there are tons of issues we’ll talk about here that go under this umbrella of being professional or not. All in all, for me, it comes down to someone sharing their story, and then telling me “their WHY” and “the how”.

Do you ever find that most online marketers leave out the how to? It’s time that we all focus on sharing the how to, because each one of us has different methods that work, and someone may try it, but it may not work for them. You won’t know until you share it!

Being Professional is Being Transparent

One thing I truly believe is that most marketers that claim to make millions per year, may not even make six figures. Why? They are always showing pictures of them holding money, stacks of cash on their desk, and talking about how they travel all around the world whenever they wish.

This isn’t inspiring or helping anyone for that matter. It’s time that people get more transparent about what they do and why. Faking people out into believing that they are doing something that they are not is unethical and it’s so misleading if you haven’t done it yet. Share with people how you are doing, and WHY you feel the way you do. If you tried something and fell flat on your face, tell it!

Being professional for me is tops, and it’s the only way to build a business. In fact, you should know that attraction marketing isn’t about making what you do look attractive, it’s about YOU being attractive! Now can you recall a time when you say something or heard someone say something that just seemed too good to be true?

I am sure that you can, and you’ll always see a few in the crowd. However, you don’t have to be one of them. At Home Jobs and Managing Your Time

At home jobs is the focus here on my website, and if you’ve been following me for any length of time, you know that my family is extremely important to me. It’s a known fact that working from home provides more freedom to do what you need to and want to, however it’s important thaat early in life you learn the value of managing your time.

Time is precious, and therefore it’s only those things that are profitable that you should be focusing your time on. This means that you need to focus on family first then work. This doesn’t mean that you don’t work at all, but what it does mean is that you manage your time more effectively. How do you do this? You can make a schedule and keep to it, or you can do something even better.

Why not keep office hours and create a schedule that defines how you’ll spend your time every single day for the year? I am going to give you some tips here to teach you more about how at home jobs can be started and easily maintained, even if you are working from your home office.

Avoiding Needless Time Stealers with At Home Jobs

While at home jobs are a tremendous blessing, they can appear to be time stealers for you. Your work isn’t really stealing your time unless of course you become unorganized!

This means it’s so important that you spend your time doing those things you love and working when it’s time to work. My best solution is to keep office hours. Go so far as to put up a sign with office hours, include them in your email and post them for telephone calls as well. I’ve also learned some great ways to manage my time concerning phone calls and emails as well.

You can create an away message for your email that would designate when you’ll return emails and phone calls just to be on the safe side. So, would need to:

Let customers know what time you’ll be checking email
What time you’ll be checking voicemail
Specify times for updates on various projects

Not everyone can manage time well without creating a schedule, therefore it’s important that you do this! Here is an example of an away message that would work for you:

Dear friends and clients,

“To serve you best please note the following. I’ll be checking emails between the hours of 1pm and 2pm, and I’ll be checking voicemail during this time as well. I’ll return calls between the hours of 2pm and 3pm, and any emails or phone calls after this time, will be returned the following morning. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”

It’s so easy to do, and you’ll find that people straighten up and respect your time a lot better!

At Home Jobs Mean Scheduling Family Time Too!

Naturally, it’s appealing to work from home, and of course friends and family always want to know when you’ll be free because they aren’t sure how you spend your time. This is why it’s important to schedule time for your friends and family. This means that you need to make sure that yes, breakfast with your spouse and children has been scheduled.

If you are having that struggle with your spouse about spending time with you, then schedule a lunch with them outside of home so that you can access them and get their full attention. This means your phones are off, and you won’t be responding to emails or phone calls during this time.

If you have small children at home, you may want to schedule a sitter to be there while you are there, so that you can spend at least an hour or two with them while you are working, and then make sure you get a break with them. This has it’s own natural role of you training your children to accept when you are free, and they’ll understand over time that it’s your time to go to work.

Home Business Ideas for the Stay at Home Mom and Dad!

If you are a stay at home mom or dad I salute you!

It’s noble of you to put your children first, and you should! As a friend of mine says in the U.S. “home is where the heart is”. You may desire at this very moment to be a stay-at-home-mom, but you want to find a way to generate income while you are at home. Your time is limited so you have to make the most of it, absolutely!

I know that feeling all too well, and I know what it’s like to NOT know where to start or how. There are many jobs that anyone can do and often seem like the quick way to make fast money including:

Dog walking or dog sitting
Cat sitting
Dealing with antiques
Babysitting
Opening up your home as a bed and breakfast
Biscuit making/confectionary

There are options, but with these options come the needed skills for each of them. This list will appear at first to be a quick way to make money but these home business ideas won’t work for a majority of people. The easiest jobs listed here are the dog walking and pet sitting, but not everyone likes animals. Many individuals may also have allergies to pet hair, which can be a detriment for someone that really desires to make money quickly.

Dealing with antiques sounds like fine if you are into collectibles and antiques of nearly any kind, however if you plan to start a business with this it takes a lot of capital to invest and get your hands on the items that turn the greatest amount of profit.

Baby sitting can be a great thing if you are a stay-at-home-mom, and if you are able to take on more children. The beauty in this is that you can specify the ages that you want to keep, and you can also specify the pick up times for the parents according to your schedule. If you charge more you can take on fewer children, but are you equipped to do this? Is your home spacious enough for more children, and can you devote the energy to at least one more child?

While a bed and breakfast sounds fun, you’ll need the property for it, and the cooking skills unless you intend to hire on a chef. A bed and breakfast is something I love to visit, but not something I want to do full-time in my own home! The same goes for baking biscuits or opening up a shop for making confectionary items. It takes money to prepare with the right equipment, and of course the love of baking.

So, with so many question marks for these ideas, how can you find something easier that almost anyone can do? Let’s take a look!

While not ALL home business ideas really work for everyone, imagine that one ideal situation in which you could use your computer to work from the comfort of your own home. Affiliate marketing is perhaps the best and easiest way to start a business at home, and generally it’s free to start!

How to Time Management When Working from Home

Are you wondering how to time management when you work from home?

Anytime you start working from home it’s bound to be a HUGE adjustment period. First of all, with children at home you have to be a stellar manager of your time. In my case, I not only spend time with my children but I also take care of my invalid mum.

It’s quite the responsibility, but ultimately it’s totally worth it because nothing is more important than family, right?

I don’t believe that there is, and while working from home gives you more freedom to do what you need to do, you still need to work to earn income.

I am going to share with you today how you can focus on the task at hand, and how you can stay organized for your business’s sake and your family’s sake too!

How to Time Management to Make it Effective

It’s important that you learn how to time management effective so that you can focus on the tasks at hand. The rule of thumb is to keep office hours so that you don’t overwork yourself.

Along with this how to time management, you need to be sure that you post your hours in email, as well as on your office door if you have one. Set the precedent by making sure that all aware of your schedule and when they can stop by or call you. It’s not uncommon for family and friends to lose sight of this when you work for yourself.

It’s so easy for those that have never been self-employed to think that you have all day to chat and take leisurely lunches! Sure, working for yourself does give you freedom and flexibility with your time, but that doesn’t mean that you don’t market yourself by:

Making calls
Preparing email campaigns
Marketing your social media
Doing solo ads
Blogging and more!

If you aren’t doing these things, then it might stand to reason why you have too much time on your hands!

So, now what do we do? It’s time to consider what a normal day would look like in your world, as you build your own business. Ready for the breakdown?

Breakfast @ 7AM
Workout@ 8AM-don’t underestimate the power of taking care of yourself
Outgoing sales calls/new business 9AM until 11:30
Check messages and emails from 11:30-12 NOON
Lunch Noon until 1 PM
Power Session-this could be reading a chapter from a book or meditating for 30 minutes 1-1:30
Administrative Stuff-checking voicemail, answering emails, reading mail etc. until 2:30
Calls or meetings from 2:30-3:30
Marketing Hour-social media ads, blogging, creating backlinks and more

There are any number of ways you could spin your day, but don’t forget to market yourself please!

This is so important in sharing with you how to time management work for you, and above all, stick to it as closely as you can. Otherwise it’s too easy to get off track!
